Winter Get-Away
SNOWMOBILE RIDE FROM THE CHALETS The lake is great for skiing and snowmobiling. Trails will take you back up to Carter Lake country; or across the lake to the south end of Johnson Pass trail and up Trail River to Trail Glacier below Grandview.
XC SKI – GROOMED TRAILS AND BACKCOUNTRY: Out the door and down to the lake are miles of skiable snow. There are also classical and skate groomed trails at Trail River Campground at mile 24 and the Seward ski trails at mile 12 – and lots of backcountry options.
BACK COUNTRY ALPINE: You can backcountry ski and board up at Carter Lake at mile 32. Manitoba Mountain is twenty minutes back up the highway.
ICE SAKTING Local residents keep a skating area cleared at the mile 30 gravel pit lake access.

The starlit night skies are brilliant away from the light pollution of the cities. Thaw out in the steaming hot tubs under these starry, aurora filled northern night sky.
